employee under payment MYOB ESSENTIALS

I have a problem with an employee's Pay.

I have recorded correct pay details (amount to be paid ) into myob pay centre.

But when i have paid into their Bank account account i have mistakenly underpaid by 50 cents

eg, Payroll in myob shows i should have paid $667.50 into their bank account

But i only paid by mistake $667.00 a shortfall of 50 cents.

Now it wont allocate to the bank transaction.

What can i do to rectify it please. Any one's help would be greatly appreciated as i need to allocate it properly.

Thank you

Re: employee under payment MYOB ESSENTIALS

Hi @Brahman,

How you handle this depends on what you plan to do next in real life. If you're planning on paying the 50 cents separately, you would be looking at setting up a split pay by dollar figure and then recording the pay as normal. This will create two entries (one for $667 and one for $0.50) that you can match to the bank transaction.

Alternatively, if you plan to increase their next pay amount by 50 cents instead, you can delete the original pay, set up a deduction for 50 cents and re-record the pay to reduce the take home amount to correctly reflect what has happened. In the next pay, you'll need to set up an allowance to add the extra amount to their total pay.

Warm Regards,

Tallie

Re: employee under payment MYOB ESSENTIALS

Hi Tallie,

thankyou for your help the first part is what i will be doing splitting the pay.

I think this is best.

That way it will match up with the bank transaction.

Just a question, when i split the pay, can it be paid into the one bank account of the employee ?  what i am meaning is, pay the $667 and the 50 cents as a split pay but paid into the same bank account details?

As the employee has provided me in MYOB only the one bank account

Hope fully that makes sense

Thanks again Brahman

Re: employee under payment MYOB ESSENTIALS

Hi @Brahman,

I can confirm that if you split the pay if you can indeed split it into the same bank account.

You only need to enter the details of the employee's accounts twice when setting up the split payment.

Cheers,
Jake
