getting logged out every 30 minutes

I keep getting logged out about every 30 minutes, even when selecting keep logged in for 12 hours.

 

 

Its only recently started.  I see other old archived posts suggesting that i completely uninstall my browser and reinstall however I'm unwilling to upset my whole workflow because myob can't write a stable platform.

 

Anyone else having this trouble in the last week?

 

Anyone have any viable ideas to fix this?  What are we paying myob money to do?

I especially like how myobs help solutions are "ask other paying customers for an answer".  Note how the livechat is greyed out with no link under it?

Hi @frank3 

 

Sorry to hear you are having problems with being logged out of Essentials.  So that we can work out what's happening can you please try using a different browser or incognito mode and see if that resolves the issue. Additionally this post, Essentials endlessly logging out, has a possible cause by Haydes will may be helpful.

I hear you and totally agree.  It is very frustrating and data is lost when you are in the middle of entering so then have to redo it again

Hi @frank3 , @AMNC 

 

If you're still experiencing the issue of being logged out from Essentials on Chrome browser, please follow the steps given below as it has known to fix the problem for many users:

 

1.    Open Google Chrome
2.    Type chrome://flags/ in your address bar
3.    Find following flags and disable those:

  • SameSite by default cookies
  • Cookies without SameSite must be secure

Once it's done, relaunch Google Chrome and login to Essentials again, as that should have the issue resolved.

Hi, I tried this without success.

 

1. cleared myob cookies.

2. restarted myob, logged in

3. read this forum 

4. opened new tab and applied changes.

5. quit chrome

6. logged back in.

7. got auto logged out.

8. tried logging in again just in case

9. got auto logged out.

 

Any other guesses @MYOB?

I reported this in February this year and have had no success despite the suggestions offered to you.

 

Its now nearly july and despite the promises from myob there has been no resolution.

 

I notice that there were reports of this type of auto log out regardless in the mYOB forum since february 2019.  Clearly they don't have much of a clue on how to do much else than getting their monthly billing right.

At this stage, we are still investigating what we can do for clients to mitigate the issue at our end but we do not have an estimated timeframe of when it would be resolved for everyone. In the meantime, a potential workaround that has worked for a number of clients is to disable the following flags in Google Chrome, therefore, we do recommend updating the browser settings as suggested:

 

  • SameSite by default cookies
  • Cookies without SameSite must be secure

 

 Having said that, we have shared your comments and feedback with the required team and will let you know once we have any update.

have you actually tried the workaround that you keep offering?

 

let me be very clear that the workaround has had no effect on the logout on my computer.  I am sick of getting logged out and having to redo data entry on complex invoices as I lose the ability to save them at the end if it is more than 20 minutes.

 

Who do I call to arrange credits to my account? perhaps MYOB would treat this more seriously if there was a loss of revenue involved.

Will MYOB be offering 50% off our monthly subscription until this persistent issue is fixed?  Noestimated timeframe for resolution. Dozens of pages with hundreds of complaints that span back to 2018.  This sounds like a clear case of Not Fit For Purpose.  

Its unlawful to charge for something that doesn't do what they claim it does.
