importing bank statement debit credit allocation wrong

I have imported bank statements from ANZ and the ANZ debits have been allocated to credits in MYOB with ANZ credits allocated as debits in MYOB meaning my balances are totally incorrect - please advise how this can be fixed

Re: importing bank statement debit credit allocation wrong

Hi @TotaraParkRDA

Firstly you will need to delete the imported entries to return to where you were before.

If you are using a QFX import file this shouldnt happen, I have seen it with CSV file formats quiet frequently.

If your interbet banking allows the export of a QFX or preferably a QIF then use these, if not you should export as a CSV, and then edit this file to ensure that the debits and credits have the appropriate "-" or " " before them.

If you look at your current import file, just change the - etc

Regards

Re: importing bank statement debit credit allocation wrong

Thank you - what I had actually done was create the account under credit cards instead of banking so the transactions were reversed!! Your answer helped me find my mistake, cheers Smiley Happy
