salary sacrifice novated lease

Hi

Can anyone assist.  We have a number of employees who salary sacrifice for novated leases.  We have set up the pretax salary sacrifice for these leases in deductions. In order to be ready for single touch payroll we need to assign an ATO reporting category.  However the only options available are :- Not reportable, deduction for workplace giving or union or ETP.  None of these apply as the amount needs to come off the gross salary.  Can someone please advise how to set this deduction up so that we can properly assign it.

Hi @Assist455

You need 3 Deduction categories pre Tax Deduction, Post Tax Deduction and GST Post Tax Deduction.

Re: salary sacrifice novated lease

From what I can tell, it isn't possible to correctly setup a non-super salary sacrifice in Essentials, as the deduction category doesn't exist. the MYOB help guide on payroll items contemplates an 'other salary sacrifice' deduciton, but it doesn't have any instructions for setting this up - so perhaps that means it is in the pipeline?

Hopefully it is ready by 1 July 2019 so we can be compliant with Single Touch Payroll!
