two factor authentication

Hi

I have installed the 2 factor authentication but it asks me every morning to put a code in, it doesnt seem to remember it for 30 days (I have ticked the 30 day box).  It is getting very annoying, can I remove the 2 factor authentication?  I am using the same device every day.

Cheers

Jesi

Re: two factor authentication

Hi @Jesi

Thanks for posting on the MYOB Community Forum.

Generally, there a couple of things that could affect it from working:

  • If you are logging in from another device (browser or computer) that you haven’t selected “remember for 30 days”, then you will be required to enter the 2-factor authentication code for that device.
  • If the browser is not correctly caching the data (AccountRight software does use your browser from the backend to process 2-Factor Authentification). Best to clear your browser's cache and cookies. If you are using AccountRight you would need to clear the cache/cookies in both your default browser and Internet Explorer/Edge (if they are different).

If you are still struggling with the issue, there some  changes in the browser settings that I will like to suggest:

1. I opened Internet Options from the Start Menu

2. I go to the Security Tab and click Trusted Websites:

3. I opened Sites and add https://*.myob.com

temp.PNG

4. I ensure the Security Level for these specific sites were Low in order to save Cookies.

Clicking Apply or OK to save these changes, I needed to restart AccountRight to reflect the change.

Do let us know how you get on and if you require further assistance.

Re: two factor authentication

Hi Satyam.

I am still having the same issue.  I have followed all your steps and every morning MYOB asks me for an authentication code eventhough I have ticked the box that says "trust this device for 30 days". I am using AccountRight 2018.2 and  I use the same computer every day.

Is there something else that can be done?

Cheers

Jesi

Re: two factor authentication

Hi @Alanalain

The instructions here can differ depending on the browser for Mac, I'm assuming you're using Google Chrome here as we're on the Essentials Board. You might benefit from these instructions on the Google Forums: Trusted sites Chrome on Mac

If you're not using Google Chrome and in fact using Safari or Firefox, I'd recommend checking out their help or Forums to see if the instructions are posted there.

Please let us know if this helps.

Re: two factor authentication

Tried it and it does not work.  This needs to be sorted as we work on a lot of different clients and don't have the time to keep stuffing around with this.
