I have an employee who was paid an additional salary in July 2020 which has tipped their super contributions over the maximum contribution base (of $5,424 being 9.5% of $57,090) for the quarter.
How do I adjust the super liability down?
Can I adjust/delete the payroll entry back in July to put a cap on the super or do I have to delete all payslips after that date too. This is not possible as we pay weekly.
Also, how can I set the super contribution limit in Essentials so that this doesn't happen again? I know I could do it when we used Account Right.

Thank you, it let me delete and re-post the historic pay without needing to undo any subsequent pays, which was my concern.
Please can you advise if I can set maximum super contribution base limits in Essentials so that this doesn't happen again? I'm sure I've done it before in Account Right.

HI @Sandy37
You can set a limit on the superannuation payroll category by clicking on the superannuation pay item on the employee record. This will bring up information about the superannuation pay item which will allow you to set a limit by filling in the relevant field

I'm sorry, but I cannot see how to do this on MYOB Essentials. When you go into the employee record and superannuation tab you can only enter the fund details and percentage. There is no field for a limit.
Am I looking in the right place?

HI @Sandy37
We do have two slightly different versions of Essentials currently available, only one of which will allow you to click on the superannuation pay item itself to make changes to it.
If you didn’t have a superannuation pay item and just had the fields for the fund and percentage you will not be able to set a limit

Neil
