Final pay increased hourly rate

HI

Processing Final Pay and 2 staff members & their annual leave/holiday pay is calculating incorrectly so its saying we owe them alot more.  Their hourly rate is calculated much higher than what they get paid.

For example:

Staff One - she has taken 51hrs leave & has rcvd $1352.04 - that means her hourly rate is $26.50 but it should be $18.00

OK yes its been averaged out but it doesnt add up

Total Income $32,047.00

8% Holiday Pay = $2563.76

Less $1352.04 taken as per above

Balance $1211.72

When clicking on final pay it says we owe her over $2500 as the 60hrs owing is using an hourly rate of $30.62 not $18.00....... have I missed something?

Look forward to your replys!

Cheers

Re: Final pay increased hourly rate

Hi there,

Just a quick question, have you printed out a report for the employee showing their earnings over the last 12 months to confirm that it definately comes to $32,047?

Thanks

Re: Final pay increased hourly rate

Hi there

Ive done this reporting...

11NOV17-11NOV19

Gross earnings $25,672.00

11NOV19-31MAR20

Gross earnings $6648.44

Staff member has taken 35hrs = $850.60 paid (works out to be $24.30ph which is incorrect) prior to 11NOV19

Staff member has taken 15hrs = $501.44 paid (works out to be $31.34ph which is incorrect) post 11NOV19

11NOV19 - Staff member had remaining 20.91hrs HP

                  - rewarded a further 55.95hrs on this anniversary

31MAR20 - Staff member has 60.86 HP owing

Something just isnt right here.

MYOB calulates the contracted hours v gross pay but shouldnt it calculate the actual hours worked v gross pay?

We have calulated manually & we get a figure owing of $1366.40.....not $2627.56!

Thanks

Re: Final pay increased hourly rate

Sorry for all of the questions, just trying to cover all the bases:

Edit Employee - Pay Details

Are the 'hours worked' correct?    eg. '20 hours worked over 5 days'

Have you double checked each of their previous pays that the '__ hours worked over __ days' is correct? This has tripped me up before and has a huge factor in the AL calculation

I dont mind you asking questions - its great.

She is contracted to work 1 day per week for 8hrs, however, during uni holidays she picks up more hours ....god dont tell me Ive done this wrong w all my staff for last 12 months!!!

Look forward to hearing from you!

I've attached 2x screen shots of where you need to look in the main Employee Details Screen and also where to check it on previous pay runs Smiley Happy

Re: Final pay increased hourly rate

Yes I have checked all that - my staff are on wages though, not salary like yours so maybe back to the drawing board for me!

Thanks

Re: Final pay increased hourly rate

Hi @JP72

Great to see @AutoEquip  has been offered their assistance with your enquiry.

WIthin MYOB Essentials Payroll, when processing a final pay for an employee there select the Final Pay option. This will generate a window similar to:

Should you need to review the rate at which the annual leave is being paid out, you can select the Hourly rate (listed as $10.00 in my screenshot). This will show you how the leave is being calculated, what rate is being used and what values are feeding into that rate.

Kind regards,
Steven
