How do I reinstate a deleted pay run that had a final pay in it?

Is there a way to reinstate a pay run that had a terminated / final pay in it? The employee is now inactive. I'm guessing that if I restart the employee, I won't have the holiday pay history intact to recreate the pay run.

Hi @Tweedledee 

 

If you have deleted a pay for an employee that was required to be there you would be looking at re-doing that particular pay.

 

Should the employee have had their final done, you want to:

  1. Go to Payroll>>Employees
  2. Select Show Inactivate
  3. Choose the desired employee
  4. Tick Active Employee
  5. Ensure that a Start date has been entered and a Finish date is not listed.
  6. Select Save
  7. Process the relevant employee's pay

Note: You may need to review the final pay paid to the employee and potentially delete that before re-processing as values could have changed.

That's the bit that is driving me crazy. That is what I tried myself before my forum message and I've done again since (by now many, many times!) and the employee still comes back as inactive and the new start date reverts back to the original. It's like it doesn't save. This is even further complicated as I want to set the employee up as a casual to pay in a couple of days but I cannot reinstate. What reason could there possibly be that the new data is not saving?!

I would recommend taking a look at my post on Deleting a Pay which outlines the items to check to ensure that the employee's record is saving after making changes.
