Nz - Annual leave not accruing correctly

Hi

I'm in NZ and have I've just set up (and paid) a new employee who worked/been paid for 40hrs over 5 days (first week)however on the payslip is shows 6.15hrs for the leave estimate (current balance part-year estimate) where I think it should be approx 3.2 hrs (40hrs x .08). 

 

In MYOB the employee set up:

pay details : 40hours over 5 days

 

Leave tab

annual leave entitlement: 160 hrs/year (fixed) (as recomended)

holiday pay: 8%

anniversary date: 20/01

Current balance part-year estimate: 6.15 hours

Any ideas? I image there is something really basic I missed but can't quite work it out.

Hi @Fiona99 

 

For that particular pay that was processed, what was the pay period?

 

If the pay period is across a fortnight, it would indicate when processing the payroll transaction the fortnightly frequency was set, instead of the weekly option. Having the pay frequency set to be fortnightly for that pay would indicate that you have gotten two weeks worth of accrued leave thus being double what you think it should be.
