Re: Error message Attempted to divide by zero - Accountright

Hi @ChalkHill

This error message generally occurs on item invoices if the same item is used more than once on order as shown:

It can be resolved by combining the order to have both items on 1 line and then saving it as an invoice.

If you've already tried that and it's not working,  attach a screenshot of the invoice so we can investigate what else might be causing it.

Kind regards,
Komal

Thanks Komal, but they are different products. I have tried again and receiving the same response. Screen shots attached.

Re: Error message Attempted to divide by zero - Accountright

Hi @ChalkHill

I would also need a screenshot of the actual invoice. Please send that via Private Message if it has confidential information and also send your product serial number so we can try running some scripts to fix this error.

Kind regards,
Komal

Re: Error message Attempted to divide by zero - Accountright

Hi @Komal_S

That type of reply if what we come to expect from MYOB.

If you know there is an issues with a divide by zero, then it should ge getting addressed by the developers.

We often have the same item listed many times on a Quote / Order / Invoice.

Doing a quote now for a customer.

There are 9 locations on the quote, each with many of the same items.

The customers request for quote wanted us to break down each location  with the items required.

I would do this many times each day and it WOULD NOT be possible to combine each item and its also not possible to do 9 seperate quotes.

Bugs need to be fixed in software, its a fact of life and about time that MYOB started to realise this.

Re: Error message Attempted to divide by zero - Accountright

Hi @AndrewStephen

I understand your concerns and this issue is with the product development team for a permanent fix. In the meanwhile, the workaround provided will resolve the issue. It may not be ideal in all situations and I do apologize for the inconvenience caused due to that.

Kind regards,
Komal

Re: Error message Attempted to divide by zero - Accountright

Hi @Komal_S

Like I mentioned, that is not a workaround.

I can't be combining like items on the quotes / orders or doing seperate invoices.

These bugs need to be fixed.
