Summary of our updated Terms of Use

Need a brief summary of the updates to our terms & conditions? 


We’ve updated the terms to cover new functionality, as well as making some changes to make the terms easier to understand.  We’ve also added more detail into the terms of use around data ownership, protection and usage.


The updates include: 


  • New headings, simpler language and new weblinks: We’re working towards making our terms of use easier to navigate and understand.  We’ve also added links to related webpages to make it easier for you to find other information you might need.


  • New definitions around types of data (Essentials and AccountRight section 2): We’ve added definitions for Customer Data and Usage Data.  These are in addition to the existing definitions of Payroll Data, Bank Feeds Data and Invoice Data.  The terms outline ownership and usage of each of these types of data.


  • Safeguarding client login credentials (Essentials and AccountRight section 3.2): We’ve clarified clients’ responsibilities to protect their login credentials, which is directly related to safeguarding their Customer Data. 


  • We’ve added more information about how we collect and use data (Essentials and AccountRight section 3.4):  We’ve included some more detail around how we protect, use and store customer data.  Our collection and use of personal information is also subject to MYOB’s privacy policies (Australia and New Zealand). 


  • New product features and additional MYOB services: We’ve covered off some new product features in the terms of use (such as Invoice Feeds which has been added to section 5 of the Essentials terms of use).  We’ve also clarified how these terms of use relate to the terms for additional MYOB services such as payment services (Essentials section 12.2 and AccountRight section 11.2).
