ARL company data auditor -transaction review - scan for future dated transactions error report

Hi Team

I can no longer scan for future dated transactions in company auditor as the system crashes during processing.

Error report says:

Accountright 2020.3.24 System. NullReference exception...object reference not set to an instance of an object.

This has not worked correctly since the August ARL update, I have sent nmerous error reports, but have heard nothing, please advise.Capture.PNG

Re: ARL company data auditor -transaction review - scan for future dated transactions error report

Hi @Helen_01

This typically happens due to future-dated multi currency transactions. Therefore, before running the transaction review, move the "From" date past the date of the multi currency transactions and the auditor should run without any errors. In other words,  adjust the dates of the Transaction Review to exclude the dates of the multicurrency transactions.

Another possible workaround is re-dating such transactions.

Please also ensure all the linked accounts are setup properly under Setup>>Linked Accounts as this error sometimes also relates to missing linked accounts.

Please let me know how you go on with that.

Kind regards,
Komal

Re: ARL company data auditor -transaction review - scan for future dated transactions error report

Thanks  Komal_S

Yes, we have future dated cross currency transactions every month.

The NZD transactions happen every month. They do not currently have direct debit, and are critical services.

We pay months in advance to keep international transaction fees down and guarantee supply.

I cannot redate these. To make matters worse, the returns and debits feature no longer works properly as it did in Premier. I cannot apply many invoices to one debit succesfully until all the money is spent (not good), and I have to undo transactions and open unlocked periods to do it all in one go for it to have any hope of working. I thought I had it all solved with this hack, but then the august ARL update came out, and was back to square 1 so to speak.

Some help would be much appreciated.

Hi @Helen_01

Unfortunately for this situation, that is the only workaround we've at the moment. However,  I've passed on your feedback to the product development teams and will post an update if anything changes. I do apologise for the inconvenience caused due to this.

Kind regards,
Komal

Hey Komal

Thanks for the reply, much appreciated.

Thanks to your help, at least I know now what the limitations are. It bugs me when I dont know, also got a bit spoilt with Premier 19 in terms of cross-currencies.

But, now I can devise a work-around and change my practices so Company auditor runs smoothly, thanks to Community Support. I also found an old post from Tracey after about 5 searches with keywords. Thank-you also Tracey, you also helped set me on the right path to solving the mystery.
