Re: File Size

Hello MYOB, Earth calling Mars !!!

Would it be possible for you to try something radical like actually trying to help your customers ? You know, the ones who buy your products so that there is money to hand out to shareholders and pay your wages ?

MYOB's performance is intolerable, we can barely use it at all - so far today I have managed to edit one invoice, print it and the accompanying statement and create an electronic bank file with two records, all in four hours :-(

Attached is the Huxley log file showing the number of timouts and other errors - could someone actually try to help us with this problem today ?

Regards,

Danny

Re: File Size

Our Administrator loged in from Bali last night and upgraded the file, now we can't even open the file as MYOB times out after a few minutes when trying to open the company file. Not happy Jan, and of course MYOB haven't bothered to make any comment.

WE NOW HAVE A COMPLETELY UNUSABLE ACCOUNTING SYSTEM - WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO FIX THIS PROBLEM, MYOB ?

Re: File Size

While waiting on the MYOB Support line (30 minutes now and counting) I have finally managed to open the company file, but now every action times out...

WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO RESPOND AND RESOLVE THIS PROBLEM, MYOB ?

Re: File Size

Hi @DannyTangney

Based on the log you have provided there is nothing directly that is standing out as to the possible cause of those timeouts. What it does look like is the system is making a request i.e for data from the server and the data is not being received by that system. As such it might be a good idea to review the antivirus exclusions we do recommend on Speed and performance tips to ensure that they are in place.

In terms of the timeouts you have been receiving with AccountRight 2019.1, we do recommend ensuring that you have added the timeout extender for that version of the program onto the computer. This would need to be added with each version update. Do let me know if you would like instructions on providing that timeout extender.

Kind regards,
Steven

Re: File Size

Hi Steven,

Thanks for making the effort to reply.

This problem was occurring before the 2019.1 upgrade. I checked this yesterday - our anti-virus exclusions are comprehensive and cover all MYOB versions and folders and are unchanged. We have been told to follow those Speed and performance tips on numerous occassions, and on numerous occassions I have advised that we have followed them all, and the problems still remain.

I have run speed tests on our internet service and there are no problems there.

I have tried accessing our company file via our server using the SE edition, and via a PC using the desktop version direct to the internet (bypassing our server entirely), and the problem occurs in both environments,.

As a temporary solution, could you please advise how to obtain and install the timeout extender ?

Version 2019.1 was promised as the solution to our performance issues, but in reallity has mad no difference whatsoever.

Could you please advise when MYOB is going to stop applying bandaids and fix the underlying design issues that is causing these problems ?

As I trust you can understand, we are desperate for a solution - we cannot use MYOB at all and this is adversely affecting opur business.

Regards,
Danny

Re: File Size

Forty minutes on the general support line, now 50 minutes waiting for an "AccountRight specialist" to pick up the phone...

More and more people are reporting problems in the forum, although I would venture to suggest that many don't bother any more due to the lack of response and action from MYOB.

It cannot be a coincidence that these problems suddenly got worse when MYOB changed it's server environment to accommodate the release of 2019.1

In the meantime, our business is suffering because we cannot use MYOB.

Some help NOW would really be appreciated.

Regards,
Danny

Re: File Size

And I'm sorry, Steven, the log file in every instance does give the explanation for the probelm - "...the server is not responding...". This is clearly a MYOB server problem that other users are also experiencing.

Danny

Re: File Size

Hi @DannyTangney

I have sent you a private message on the Forum with additional information in regards to adding a timeout extender for AccountRight which has worked for some clients.

Kind regards,
Steven

Re: File Size

Wondering how much worse it is with people trying to upgrade to 2019.1

Every upgrade brings table structure changes that puts each load on the server.
So I am guessing that is a reason for the timeouts and lagging this last few days.

It is really bad at the moment.
