Re: Myob Cloud

Hi @taminh65

By 'old file on AccountRight' if you are referring to an old AR2016 (.myox) file, then yes, simply open the file in AR2018.4 - you will be prompted to upgrade, upgrade. Once upgraded to AR2018.4 you can upload the file to the cloud via the File > Go Online. FYI you need a current subscription of each file you want to store online.

If however you are referring to a v19 company file (or an older version) the answer is yes you can upgrade and upload to the cloud in most cases. AR2018 had a built in Upgrade function that will upgrade a v19 file to AR2018.

If the file is pre v19, you will need to upgrade it to v19 first. Then run AR2018 and select Upgrade from the Welcome screen. Follow the prompts to select your company file etc.

There are some exceptions - If the old company file:

  • has any errors, the file will not upgrade to AR2018 until those errors are repaired.
  • has the multi currency preference turned on, this must be turned off before the file can be upgraded.
  • has the multi locations, this must be converted to single location before the file can be upgraded.
  • has the Negative Inventory preference turned on, this must be turned off before the file can be upgraded.
  • has Purchase Orders with Received Tick, these must be converted to Bills before the file can be upgraded.
  • is an AccountEdge file, the file must be converted to an AccountRight file before it can be upgraded

Regards

Gavin
