Still cannot upgrade to 2019.2 due to unsupported multi-currency transactions

Hi,

I'm trying to upgrade MYOB file from AccountRight 19 to new AccountRight 2019.2, however, it still cannot upgrade due to the unsupported multi-currency transaction, I went through the possible reason can cause the failure of file upgarde, and I believe is the below reason.

Transactions using the Professional, Time Billing or Miscellaneous layouts (only Item and Service layouts are currently supported), we are using miscellaneous layout in foreign currency purchase.

Just want to check is MYOB still working on to develop the version which is miscellaneous layout compatible? And would it possible to expect some time next month? Thanks.

Regards,

Sharon

Re: Still cannot upgrade to 2019.2 due to unsupported multi-currency transactions

Hi @sharonlu

Earlier in the week, I sent a file to a 3rd party who specialises in MYOB files. There were several Misc layout invoices. They were able to go into the back end and change the layout to Service - which allowed the files to upgrade.  If interested in their contact details, send me a private message - hover mouse over my name above and click Send Message.

Depending on MYOB's timeframe (likely to be the standard 'at this stage we are unable to provide a timeframe') may be worth considering.

If upgrading just for STP, there are other options including a 3rd party product specifically for v19 MYOB users.

Regards

Gavin

Re: Still cannot upgrade to 2019.2 due to unsupported multi-currency transactions

HI Gavin,

I use v19 and cannot upgrade to 2019.2 due to multicurrency.

I am interested in what you said in yoru message for STP re other options including a 3rd party product specifically for v19 MYOB users. I am concerned that myob wont be ready at July 1 which is then outside of the ATO extension period re STP for myob v19 users.

Thanks

Justin

Re: Still cannot upgrade to 2019.2 due to unsupported multi-currency transactions

Hi @Justin_Sp @sharonlu

At the current stage, we have no plan to add miscellaneous layout and negative inventory in the new AccountRight. If your company files contain any of the unsupported mutli-currency transaction layouts or accounts, then additional tasks would be required to upgrade the file.

To start off, please complete the pre-upgrade tasks mentioned in this Help article: Upgrade a Premier multi-currency company file. If the unsupported data exist in closed financial years, this may purge them to allow the file to be upgraded. For any foreign currency accounts other than trade creditors, trade debtors, bank and credit card accounts, please edit the account type to one of the supported ones.

If you are still unable to upgrade the company file after completing the above, please do let us know. We can arrange the file to come in for further investigation/advice. Please do let us know how you go.

Cheers,
Clover

Hi @lmkdw

You can customise the invoice forms to add the currency code field. I've replied to your original post there with more information.

Clover
