I am attempting to upgrade a client from Enterprise Classic V19 to AR Live 2018.4 druing the Xmas break. They have not turned on the multi currency feature nor activated the location feature for inventory.
The current file size is 1.76gig. Are there any issues l should be aware of before commencing the upgrade?

I work as a bookkeeper not an accountant but if your client desperately wants to have the new version for STP then get them to only run the payroll on the new version and journal the balances back into v19 to complete the financials in order to avoid going nuts with the lack of speed and the bugs. If they want it for other reasons, like the bank feeds then I would seriously recommend they try it first as it may end up costing them so much in time with a file that big that it's not worth the savings of the "extra" features.
I second @gavin12345 comments and don't do it.
I upgraded 2 weeks ago from v19 Premier to AR2018.4.1 and in all honesty its the biggest mistake I made in 2018 even with all the issues we had v19.
Our 550mb Premier file blew out to 1.2Gb and that after we purged 3 years of data I didn't really want to purge.
With a company file @ 1.2Gb we get Out of Memory and Performance issues causing use to exit and restart AR ~7 times a day, each time we lose about 5 minutes.
The processing our standard day to day tasks take me an extra 60 minutes per day.
If you haven't yet upgrade, DON'T DO IT.
Thanks Mike l will heed your advice at this stage
When we upgraded from v19 Premier to AR2018.4 our file went from approx 550mb to 1.2Gb
That is approx 125% larger in size and that is part of the problem.
If you are seeing only a 30-50% then I hope MYOB aren't purging data from the AR2018 file.
Even the v19 clearwater increases in size but over 250%
v19 size was 3744 KB and AR2018.4.1 is 10708 KB
I have tried serveral different datafiles from v19 ranging in size from 50Mb to 550Mb and they ALL increase in size by over 125%
Also, purging data is really not a solution to overcome the inefficient SQL CE structure that has been used.
Beleive it or not, some of us customers need the data thats in our V19 company file in our AR2018 company file as its needed to allow us to run our business and service our customers.
I really wish the response to questions like this is to purge your data before upgrading.
