exporting to excel

We have changed to Account Right 2014.4 online and cannot print or export to Excel

I checked our report files that were copied over from the previous version of Account Right Enterprise. All of the templates are showing as Exel but none of them have a file extension of eithe XTL or XLTS. I tried modifying one report name to .XLT and to .XLTS but it has made no difference - still get error messages.

I can export to PDF and can convert to Excel that way but it is very messy and columns etc to do line up

We are using Microsoft 365 for all of our Office programs - not sure if this makes a difference.

Re: exporting to excel

Hi @Tina1959

Could you please confirm what error message you get when trying to export to excel or is "Export to Excel" greyed out?  If the Export to Excel button is gryed out, I would recommend checking if Office 365 is 32 bit and installed locally on your computer.

If you are getting an error message that a required file is missing, or if the XLT/XLTS files are not in the location specified, then reinstalling the server edition of the software would help as it automatically installs all the missing files. You can access it off our downloads website.

Please let me know how you go on.

Kind regards,
Komal

Re: exporting to excel

Hi Komal,

See attached screenshots.

The first is what I get when I just try to export to Excel from the reports menu

I can display the report but cannot export and Excel is not greyed out.

I use a 64bit version not 32 bit - Windows 10 pro and Microsoft 365 - I have no problems with any other programs and never  had issues when we were just using MYOB Enterprise.

I checked in the MYOB file location and  the second shot shows all of the files - none of them have file extensions though so I am a bit confused.

Re: exporting to excel

Hi @Tina1959

All these files that are present in the Spreadsheets folder are of type "Microsoft excel template", which means that they are compatible. The error message you are getting specifies that  "zalcs.xlt" file is missing. Therefore, I would recommend reinstalling AccountRight as it automatically installs all the missing files back again.

Kind regards,
Komal

Thanks Komal,

Do I need to do that on everybody's PC or just mine?

Re: exporting to excel

Hi @Tina1959

The link should be working now and you can try reinstalling it just on your PC for now. If it works successfully, only then update the other PC's.

Kind regards,
Komal

Re: exporting to excel

Thanks Komal,

I think that when this was originally done we just used the PC edition - the person who helped from MYOB did not seem to know much about servers - should I have installed server edition in the first place.

We are running Account Right premier  2019.4.0 version 2019.4.23.1762

Re: exporting to excel

Hi @Tina1959

If your file is local then you would have to install Server Edition on one computer acting as a host and PC edition on all the other computers to configure the network library correctly.

However, if your file is online, this distinction does not really matter and you can install Server edition in case of any problem as it installs any missing files that are not installed using PC edition.

Kind regards,
Komal
