How do I record a bank transfer from one foreign currency to anothe

I am trying to reconcile a foreign currency account.

On previous versons of Account Right (v2019.19 and earlier) I used to journal a bank transfer via the Currency Transfer Holding account, however since "updating" (or more like going backwards) to v2019.2 all my journals now say void and I cannot seem to find out how to record the transfer.

How do I record these bank transfers now?

Re: How do I record a bank transfer from one foreign currency to anothe

Hi @alane

To record a transfer of currencies in AccountRight 2019.2 you would use the Banking>>Spend Money/Receive Money windows.

Firstly, you would record the transaction to a holding account via Banking>>Spend Money with the Pay from account being the foreign bank account the funds are coming from. You would then record another transaction (Banking>>Recieve Money) with the deposit account being the foreign currency bank account and the allocation account being the holding account.

I have assumed you have transferred between two foreign currency bank accounts.

Kind regards,
Steven
