Can't download update file from MYOB site. I had the same problem with Accountright. During the download the file changes from .exe to .1521412182 which is no type of file at all. Hannah on LiveChat had never heard of this problem so in the end she emailed the file to me so I could download BUT today there is no LiveChat so I can't speak to anyone. I have attached the screenshot of why I can't open the file. It would be nice to get the file emailed to me so I can get on with my work.

what web browser are you using to download the program? can you use chrome?
also what anti-virus are you using and can you turn it off before you click the download link, as sometimes the AV(anti-virus) stops part of the download from happening.
The error message to me looks like that Windows is changing the file extension on that installer. So providing the direct download link will probably have the same outcome.
What I would recommend doing is enabling the ability to show file extensions of known file types in Windows and then right-clicking on the Payroll Installer to rename the end of the installer to be .exe (for example it will need to be MYOBPayroll2018-1.exe).
You also may wish to consult an IT specialist in regards to why exe downloads are being flagged with the incorrect file extensions to avoid this situation occurring in the future.
The emailed file worked for AccountRight 2 days ago. Can I just get the 2018.1 Payroll file emailed as well?
I have never had any problems whatsoever with any other files that I have downloaded & run. Any chance of the file being emailed please?
Can't use Chrome as we have another program that has problems with it. I don't like Chrome myself. I am running Norton at the moment and is telling me that the MYOB site is safe but I will give it a go.
All good I solved it myself. I saved the file name as .exe... simple!
