Changing employee tax code

I have noticed that when an employee's tax code is changed and you then look up an old pay slip the current tax code shows.  Shouldn't the tax code that was used when the pay was done show on the pay slip history?

Re: Changing employee tax code

Hi @ATL

When re-producing payslips in New Zealand (Desktop) Payroll some data will pull from the original transaction, whereas other information will come from current information in the file. For example, the employee name, address, tax code, occupation.. will pull from the current information, whereas the pay information (pay codes used, amounts...) are based on information from the original pay.

If you do need to look at what the original tax code on that pay would have been you would be looking at the original pay slip.

Kind Regards,
Steven

Re: Changing employee tax code

Yes, I thought that was probably the case.

You can only look at the original payslip if the employee has it though.

It's not a huge problem, but just a bit of an anomoly in the system in my opinion.

Thanks Steven Smiley Happy
