Entering public holidays for employees with variable hours

Hi, in MYOB Essentials Payroll how do I enter public holidays for employees that have variable hours each day.  This is only the second payroll I am entering since purchasing this product but I have entered the employees pay history.

Thanks

Terrena

Re: Entering public holidays for employees with variable hours

Hi @OscarH

To enter public holiday for an employee that has worked you would go to Payroll>>Enter Pays>>Select the employee and dates>>Select the Add holidays & leave before selecting Public holiday worked. Within this window, you can select to add in the relevant hours/days and select an hourly rate. For employees that work varied hours, you would likely select the Hourly rate based on Average Daily Pay option*.

*This will use the last 12 month's gross earnings divided by the hours worked to give you the hourly rate used for the public holiday. As it is using the historical values to determine the rate it may give you a more accurate hourly rate than relevant daily pay.

Kind Regards,
Steven
