Pay in advance

I would like to create the pay early and pay on a later day. Say I get the pay done on Wednesday and have it to go out on Thursday.   This is ideal when I go on holiday.  I can set up the pays and not worry about doing the pay on a Thursday.  Is this possible?

Re: Pay in advance

Hi @Sepali1,

Welcome to the MYOB Community Forum, I hope you find it a valuable resource.

In MYOB Payroll you can process the payroll in advance. Once you have processed the payroll for a week, fortnightly or monthly and finalised it you would change the date at the bottom right corner of the screen "Current pay ended on....." and go through the entire process for a new period and so on.

Processing the payroll this way is cleaner on reports as well when the history is created accurately. When the system looks back at the History for Leave rate calculations, it does it correctly.

Hope this helps. Let us know how you go as we are happy to help.Smiley Happy

Re: Pay in advance

Thanks, I can set up future pays in MYOB payroll.  But what about setting up the day it goes out of the bank in advance.  Say, I set up the weekly pays in advance for the month and mark them at to be paid each friday or on a specific day. Is that possible?

Re: Pay in advance

Hi @Sepali1,

Yes, it is possible. When finalising payroll there is an opportunity to enter the date for transmitting the Direct Credit batch and paying it as shown below:

Hope this helps and if there are any further questions please do not hesitate to bring it to the forum. We are happy to help. Smiley Happy

Re: Pay in advance

That window does not appear when I do the pay.  How do I get to that window?

Re: Pay in advance

I don't have that window. It doesn't come up when I Finalise pay.  Have I set it up incorrectly?

Re: Pay in advance

Last window I get is the "One last check and we will do the rest"  This window does not have anything to add, just a final check .

Re: Pay in advance

Hi @Sepali1,

Can you please confirm which payroll software you are using. It is obvious that we are both talking about different software for payroll. The screen I have mentioned in my post previously relates to NZ Payroll in which you have the ability to write the Bank Processing and Transmission date while MYOB Essentials payroll works differently.

Looking forward to hearing from you so we can help further.

Re: Pay in advance

I am using MYOB essential.  I didn't realise that there is another.  How do I get that?
