Cannot save RESC Deduction to Employee deductions tab and therefore not displayed in pay run

N MYOB Essentails I have set up a Pay item, Deduction for Salary Sacrifce / RESC.

If I go to the deductions tab for the relevant Employee, I can add the deduction but it does not allow me to Save it.

Consequently when I do a Pay Run there is no provision for this deduction displayed.

Any help as to why it will not save appreciated.

Hi @JohnHutchinson, 

Thank you for your post and welcome to the Community Forum ! To assign a pay item to an employee you will need to do the following:

1. From the Payroll menu, choose Employees.
2. Click the employee's name.
3. Click the Pay items - earnings & deductions tab. The top section of the page is for Earnings, and the lower section is for Deductions.
4. Click the dropdown arrow next to the Add earning... or Add deduction... field.

5. Choose the pay item to be assigned to the employee. The pay item is assigned to the employee.

If the about is how you've done this and it is still not saving, can you please confirm if you get any error messages ? If possible can you please attach a screenshot.

Thanks Melissa, for your help on this.

We followed this process,set up the Pay item and allocated it to the employee.

Screen shots  attached  Pay item - Salary sacrifice  - set up and Deduction showing under Tab for Employee.

The problem appears to be that the deduction will not save under the Employee's deductions tab...

Your help much appreciated

Thank you for the screenshots. To troubleshoot can you please clear your browsers cache and try again ? If this doesn't work can you try via a different browser. If both this steps don't work can you please send me a private message with your serial number and a screenshot of the deduction set up.

Unfortunately even by changing from Safari to Google Chrome it has not resolved.

Solved - the deduction pay item was set up correctly but would not Save to the Employee Deduction Tab due to an incorrect entry on the Employee's Tax Tab (variation %)
