MYOB Essentials - Superannuation

Hi,

I am new to MYOB Essentials, recently migrated from the far simpler and straightforward AccountEdge program *sigh*.

I have just gone into pay superannuation for the month of JULY and discovered that I have to set up the Pay Superannuation stuff again and await a deposit into the Bank Account before I can move forward to paying the superannuation.

I would like to check that the SPIN/USI numbers for the different super accounts are correct but there is no such information visible on the Employee >Payroll Details>Superannuation section.  It clearly shows the fund that each employee has chosen and if I click on that I can see that I correctly have the 10% calculation there but it does not show the Spin/USI numbers or ABN or anything of that type of detail that I can clearly and easily see in AccountEdge.

How do I find these details?  Am I missing something?

Re: MYOB Essentials - Superannuation

I have attached a screenshot of what an employee superannuation looks like.  No option to add SPIN/USI number and after finishing setting up the Super Payments part of it, I go to Payroll>SuperPayments and choose the date range, all the amounts are correct but it says I need to add the SPIN/USI but I don't see how to do that??

Very frustrating, I would have this done in AccountEdge 4 hours ago.

Re: MYOB Essentials - Superannuation

Hi @TrudiMBBSH

AccountEdge used the MYOB Super Portal whereas MYOB Essentials does use a direct Pay Superannuation service. This does mean that you do need to complete the registration process again as you would now be registering for a slightly different service.

In terms of MYOB Essentials and the super fund information, you can find the information relating to the fund through your Business Name Menu (top right)>>Payroll Settings>>Superannuation Funds. This would be where you can set up those funds used by your employees. From within here, you can set to add a new fund to your business or review existing funds.

Kind regards,
Steven

Re: MYOB Essentials - Superannuation

Steven_M thank you so much for your reply.

I understood the need to register or sign up in the new program and had done that even though it irritated me a bit, haha.  It seems to be an endless merry go round of spending a lot of time trying to work out how this new program works and feeling frustrated and stressed because of everything else that is going on in Victoria.

I was stuck on how to enter the details that were missing in the Superannuation, your clear and concise instructions have solved that problem for me.  Thank you very much.

One other problem I noticed when I went to the Pay Super segment was that it said to add country.  I went into each employee and put Australia in but it still says that now.  I hope putting in the SPIN/USI may solve that too.

Re: MYOB Essentials - Superannuation

Hi @TrudiMBBSH

When you said you added Australia in, was that typed in or selected through the drop-down? We do recommend selecting it from the drop-down if you are encountering that situation. This will ensure that Australia is selected which should prevent that country from being flagged by the Pay Super service.

Kind regards,
Steven

Re: MYOB Essentials - Superannuation

Thanks Steven_M,

I see what you mean, I went back and did that with the one left that was showing the country fault.

All good now, processed with no problems on Friday morning.

Thanks again for your help, clear and concise instructions and easy to follow.
