I am back to having the issue with Essentials timing out - in fact my Practice dashboard times out as well - very frustrating.
The previous instructions on disabling the same-site cookies is no longer valid, as my Chrome has up-dated to Version Version 91.0.4472.164 (Official Build) (64-bit), and these items do not appear under the flags heading as they did previously. There are a couple of items with similar names - are these now the ones to disable?
Any solutions please?????

I am sorry to hear you are having issues again with Essentials timing out.
We are aware this is very inconvenient for you. The developers are looking for a permanent fix.
The following work-arounds have helped other users:
Customers using 64-bit versions of Chrome will need to uninstall that version and download a 32-bit version. The 32-bit version of Chrome needs to install to C:\Program Files(x86)\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe for the shortcut edit to work.

Opening in incognito window didnt work.
Im not an IT engineer but - Dumbing down Chrome from 64 bit to 32 bit sounds dodgy.
The fact that my MYOB Essentials is a legacy product means that I have persevered with all the "quirks" and "we're working on it" different dramas for nearly 7 years now.
Please just make it work as advertised or transition legacy users to the new platform already ?
Essentials is continually slow, laggy, the payment reminder box is still popping up despite updating payment details some 3 or 4 weeks ago.
I'm seriously coming to the end of the road with putting up with this stuff, it can seriously stuff up a SME owners day, its the small things that add up and up that lose peoples **bleep** for them.

and where's the solution for MAC users? I have tried everything suggested in mutiple threads regarding this issue and NOTHING has worked. its very difficult when you are in the middle of typing up an invoice or quote and it just logs you out! Seriously unacceptable.

Thanks for your post. I am sorry to hear you are also having issues with Essentials timing out. Google Chrome on Mac computers doesn't have the option to edit the shortcut provided as they have removed this.
Have you tried using Essentials in a different browser, such as Firefox? That seems to have helped other users.
If you are using Safari, you could try the following:
You could also try using a Private Browsing Window in Safari:
The Private Window option is accessible from the File menu or by pressing Shift+Command+N on your keyboard.
