I can go on about my dislike of this upgrade with its many issues that I have posted about along with many others.
This upgrade is obviously not geared for small business. Many feaures added are not used by small business like mine. All its done is add cluter to what was an easy to use software to one that is no longer user friendly. Im now paying for features I dont use nor want. Its much slower and on many occasions un responsive. Things that I could do in 1 or 2 steps now take 3 to 4 steps. The last thing i want to do at the end of the day is to spend more time on the computer than I need to. It seems that MYOB are tring to use a one program fits all. Im not an accountant so it needs to be and should be kept simple because I cant afford to hire someone to do my book keeping for me. This is either a cost cutting excerise or a way to drive out small businesses from their platform.

Since the migration to the mew platform I cant help but notice how show it has become. Things that were almost instant now take 10 - 15 seconds or longer. I seem to spend more time waiting which means Im having to spend longer to do what I need to. As a sole operater, its the last thing i want to have to do in the evening is spend longer on the computer. Its not uncommon for me to get an (Page Unresponsive” error) where Im asked if I want to wait or close the page. Some things that I did in one step now involves twosteps and in some cases three steps. Many of us sole operaters were happy with a simple to use basic system but its obvious that this upgrade is more geared toward larger businesses.

Sorry to hear that you do feel that way in relation to the newer MYOB Essentials product.
The newer platform does offer some fantastic new features and benefits to users including some highly requested features of that original platform.
We do understand that a number of users that have migrated from the Original MYOB Essentials platform have had trouble post-migration in terms of potential changes in workflows and features. The focus of our teams is looking at the current workflows in the Newer MYOB Essentials platform and seeing what changes we can do in the short term and long term to cater it for those Original MYOB Essentials users.

Im happy that our frustration and continued issues with this problematic upgrade amuses you.
The previous MYOB essentials was a much more user friendly platform and basic which fulfilled my requirements as a sole operator. Last thing I want at the end of the day is to have to spend more time the the computer.

Compared to the other SME software Essentials is streets ahead. I set up a brand new client today it took me about an hour. I dont mean to be flippant about the support either. Myob leaves the others in the dust. I'd be thrilled to help if you have any specific queries. Call me any time
