My MYOB Essentials keeps closing without warning

Hi

This has been happening for a long time and I have just been coping with it.

The other day I was writing up a long quote. I forgot to save this quote as I was going and MYOB just shut down as it does and an hours work was lost.

It is also sad that Essentials does not have an auto save feature.

The "stay signed in for 12 hours" option does not work either.

I followed the suggestions of old 2020 posts - they did not work.

My browser is Crome.

Looking forward to some help otherwise the move to another accounting platform looks like a good move.

Hi @Dreamroof,

 

Thank you for your post, however, sorry to hear about this. 

 

Whilst we do recommend Chrome as the preferred browser for Essentials, you may find that a different browser is better suited to your environment when using Essentials.

 

I would advise trying other browsers like Firefox, or Microsoft Edge to see how the software performs there. 

 

In regards to the 'stay signed in' issue, do any other users log into that device using a different email?

Thanks for taking the time to reply.

 

Over the last couple of days I tried the Edge browser. I chose the "stay signed in" option as I am the only one to use my home office PC. After 5 hours I was signed out. The next day I was signed out after 2 hours. The next time I signed in it was even less time before being signed out. Each time I chose the "stayed signed in" option.

 

This being signed out is not due to lack of activiity. As mentioned before I can be in the midst of placing details within an invoice and I am signed out.

 

Any other ideas?

Hi @Dreamroof,

 

We are currently upgrading all users from the old platform to the new version for multiple reasons, such as performance enhancements, feature enhancements, compliance, etc. It also might be worth pointing out that MYOB Essentials does not support phase 2 and with this being a requirement from the ATO, we would need users on the new platform.

 

I will attach some help articles below that provides information on changes in the new platform, as well as things you can do now to get your file ready for the transition:

Thanks for the info. So in summary re upgrade I wait to be told that I will soon be upgraded and before this happens I can do a few things to be prepared. 

 

Keen for upgrade to happen especially since I have looked at your suggested article (re not being signed out) and tried the private window for both Crome and Edge - neither made any difference.

This same issue has been a problem for our company for a long time.

We are using Chrome but I have also tried Edge with the same result. Also have tried incognito as recommended by MYOB help previously but still the same result.

It is getting to be a real problem and we too are considering changing software.

I like using MYOB Essentials with Payroll immensely but haveing to relog in often is getting to be a real problem.
