Hi,
I currently process only 4 employees in ESSENTIALS but not all employees get paid in each pay run. Sometimes I only process 3 employees for wages.
However, next week, I will need to add a new employee, making a total of 5 employees, but I will only process 4 pays in the next pay period.
Also, I only process the wages monthly. How is a pay period seen in ESSENTIALS? Could I pay one employee in a separate pay run to the others, possibly processing 5 employees in one particular month but still less than 4 in any one pay period?
It is unlikely that I will need to do this again so any expert advice will be appreciated on how I can remain on the basic ESSENTIALS software.
Do I need to upgrade for this to happen? Reading other posts, it seems that you can have more than 4 active employees, as long as you are only processing 4 employees each pay run. What problems could I run into?

Hi @HoneySandra
Micro Payroll is designed to process 4 employees' pays. The system will look at the pay period that the pay was processed to determine the number of employees processed. If you do need to process more than 5 employees in a pay period (based on dates, not frequency) then you would be looking at upgrading to an unlimited payroll package that would allow for more than 5 employees to be processed.
