Obtaining file after hard drive crashed

Do you know where I can get help I have the old myob accounting plus version 9 release 3.1.  Have retrieved the software and my backup files but when I try to open the account I keep getting a message unable to open file, file may be locked or in use, or access privilege may be incorrect.

 

getting audited soon and need to retrieve the data base. 

Help desperately needed.

There are a few reasons that can cause this error message, I'd suggest following this Help article to check and resolve this error: 

 

Error: "Unable to open file"

Hi @Frustrated70 

 

If your HDD failed, the 'recovered' MYOB file is not a MYOB file. HDD recovery software cannot recover a MYOB file properly.

 

And the file cannot be repaired. You should look for a copy on a usb, or a copy you might have emailed to someone, or a backup on another HDD.
