Retained Earnings Rollover Error

Hi Team,

My client has rolled over the "offline" file and found there's an error in the retained earnings.

I've seen previous post regarding the rollover error and perhaps this is one of it.

Appreciate if someone can help to fix the MYOB file, as all the file was used and has all the detailed transactions for the current year, hence preferable if the current MYOB file can be fixed.

As the Balance Sheet is out balance we would be possibly looking at arranging for that company file to be sent in for an investigation and possible repair.

In saying that, just before we arrange for that process we do recommend trying the following process:

1. Take a backup of the company file - File>>Backup
2. Navigate to Setup>>Balances>>Account Opening Balances
3. Locate an account that has $0.00
4. Update the balance of that account for $1.00
5. Select OK
6. Repeat that process and remove that $1.00 for that account

The above process will refresh the Historical Balancing account. As a result may pull that Balance Sheet back in balance so do re-run that Balance Sheet, does it balance?

If not, then we would be looking at arranging for the company file to come in for that investigation and possible repair. Do let us know if that is required.

No the method you've suggested doesn't work.

Please advise the next step and if there's any fees involved to investigate and repairing the file.

My client has just updated me that he managed to get MYOB technician to check on it. Thank you for your effort!
