Account Edge cannot connect to STP to finalises pays for the year.

Hi,

I have moved from Account Edge to MYOB Essentials around November 2021. When I did the STP finalisations in MYOB Essentials, the old pay runs in MYOB Essentials were not included. When I went back into Account Edge to try and submit the payruns, I get the message 'Connection Error forbidden'.

I have called MYOB 3 times now, they have told me to contact the ATO. I have called ATO who cannot help me.

Hoping to get a solution here, as our employees cannot finalise their tax returns.

Thanks for your post. Did you report and finalize those pays in AccountEdge? Did you 0 out the employees YTD information in AccountEdge before finalizing? Have you followed the steps in this article after you migrated: Just moved from AccountEdge? It is only the YTD totals that are send to the ATO, so once you started recording payruns in Essentials it would have updated these to the ATO and you won't need to send the old reports.

Did you report and finalize those pays in AccountEdge?

No, could not connect STP to ATO

 

Did you 0 out the employees YTD information in AccountEdge before finalizing?

No

Yes I did, I am already paying Super and sending STP in Account Essentials.

 

It is only the YTD totals that are send to the ATO, so once you started recording payruns in Essentials it would have updated these to the ATO and you won't need to send the old reports.

The issue is that it is showing as unfinalised in Employees login to the ATO.

 

Since I posted this, we have installed the Account Edge update with the STP patch and this worked and I was able to finalise the STP files and the employees ATO accounts were updated.
