Hi @Wendy2018
MYOB have started to refer to the 2 AccountRight products as Live and Classic. These are not official names.
Live refers to AccountRight versions 2011 to 2017, commonly referred to as AR2017 for example.
Classic refers to all v19 and earlier products. So v19.12 is a Classic product. The latest version of Classic v19 is v19.14. If your current licence is for Premier v19.12, and you wanted to upgrade to v19.14, you would need to subscribe for a minimum of 12 months, that upgrades your licence to the latest version.
If Premier v19.12 meets your current needs, there is no need to upgrade. The main difference between v19.12 and v19.14 is support for Working Holiday Makers.
What MYOB have been trying to do for some time is to force all Classic users to upgrade to the Live range (AR2017). Although referred to as Live, you can use AR2017 online or on your desktop only. To store the company file online and use Live services you will need an ongoing subscription.
Earlier MYOB threatened to stop Confirming v19 files, thereby forcing Classic users to upgrade to AR2017. They have since relented and allowed users to keep using v19, however MYOB will not be upgrading v19 for Single Touch Payroll.
After 1 July 2018 all employers with over 19 employees must comply with Single Touch Payroll. If you have over 19 employees, come 1 July 2018 you will need to either upgrade to AR2017 or find an alternative way of complying with Single Touch. Single Touch is similar to SuperStream, you can comply by using the latest software version, or you can comply using alternative means.
Some Single Touch providers will allow v19 MYOB users to upload a payroll spreadsheet as they do each payroll. The provider will then reformat the data and send to the ATO, similar to how superfunds allow you to upload a csv file. This is what is meant by complying by alternative means.

Gavin

Hi Wendy (@Wendy2018),
Thank you for your post.
Just adding some clarification on the STP section of Gavin's response.
It is true that we are encouraging our AccountRight customers to move to an STP enabled version of AccountRight to ensure you are ready to meet your STP reporting obligations.
However, those who are unable to move to an STP enabled version, because they are currently using multi-currency, negative inventory, multi location inventory, M-Powered Payment or ODBC and those using AccountEdge, don't need to worry. The ATO have granted an STP reporting deferral until 31 May 2019 for these clients.
So we can discuss your options in detail, I have arranged for one of our team members to be in contact with you.
Cheers,

Hi Suja_P (@Suja_P)
We are using AccountRight Premier 19.14 and using Multi-Currency, and hence cannot move to Live at the moment.
From reading previous posts, MYOB has been granted a deferral by ATO till 31 May 2019.
Can you please let me know if we will need to do anything before 1 July 2018, such as inform the ATO of the deferral?
We have not received any direct communication from MYOB advising of the deferral or how we are to advise the ATO that we are using MYOB etc
