Deferral on upgrade from AccountRight v19?

On Friday 13/4/18 we received an email from MYOB regarding STP.

When clicking the link for a business with over 20 staff,  there is a heading stating that we need to be STP compliant by 1/7/18.  Immediately following this is the message "We've worked to get you more time. We understand that EOFY can be a busy and stressful time of year. That's why we've been working closely with the ATO to secure you a deferral for AccountRight v19. That way you can upgrade to an STP enable solution once all your EOFY commitments are out of the way. So for now, you don't need to do anything, we'll be in touch after EOFY to help with your upgrade"

We are now confused as to whether we do or don't upgrade to 2018.1 before 1/7/18?

Re: Deferral on upgrade from AccountRight v19?

Hi @DaniD,

Thank you for your post and sorry for the delay in getting back to you.

We see why this can be confusing. As mentioned in the link, all businesses using AccountRight classic, with 20 or more employees, need to upgrade to an STP enabled version of AccountRight before July 1 2018. However, because this time of year can be busy and stressful, we have worked with the ATO to secure a deferral for more time to complete their upgrade.

Short answer, you do not need to rush into upgrading your file from AccountRight classic to AccountRight Live during the busy EOFY period. We will be in touch after EOFY to help you through the upgrade process.

I hope this helps. Do let me know if you need any further clarifications or need help with anything else. We're always happy to help.

Cheers,

Re: Deferral on upgrade from AccountRight v19?

Hi @DaniD

How many employees do you have ?

(Based on  f/t & p/t + casuals who worked in March)

20 or more staff: You must have Single Touch Payroll in place by 1 July 2019

Fewer staff: You have another 12 months - until 1 July 2019.

Which version of AccountRight are you using ?

2017 or 2018

20 or more e/ees:

Upgrade now to 2018.1.1 (current version), so you can begin planning for STP.

The final part of the STP rollout will be in version 2018.2 - coming-out in May. (currently under beta-testing).

Under 20 staff:

You have more time, till 1 July 2019 - but you can upgrade to 2018.1.1 now, if you wish.

Plus v.19

20 or more employees:

See this video and Upgrade now to 2018.1.1  to be ready for STP by 1 July

Once you've upgraded, see  the your next steps video

Next, see the Moving AccountRight forms video

Under 20 staff:

You have more time, till 1 July 2019 - but you can upgrade to 2018.1.1 now, if you wish.

Premier v.19 or Enterprise v.19

and not using the additional features (multi-currency, negative inventory or multi-inventory locations)

- as for Plus v.19 above

Premier or Enterprise v.19 and using the additional features:

- You can defer upgrading to AccountRight 2018.1.1 (or later versions),  until 31 May 2019.

By that time, the additional features will also be in version 2018 or later versions

You will need to contact the ATO and quote the MYOB Deferral Number (4XXXXX97)

Note: All employers need to be on STP payrolls by no later than 1 July 2019.

MYOB will NOT be bringing STP to the v.19 editions.
