How to terminate an employee in the Payroll Reporting Centre

Hi Everyone

 

An employee can be terminated in the Payroll Reporting Centre through the Employment Termination tab. Within this window, you can choose the relevant employee(s) that have been terminated, enter in their employment end date and select Notify the ATO

 

If the employee is to receive an Early Termination Payment (ETP) don't forget to ensure that you have entered in that pay in prior to completing the above process.  Forgot to complete this step or made a mistake with the ETP? Accidentally terminated the incorrect employee or need to undo a finalisation? Accidents happen and these ones can be cleared up by undoing that finalising using the following steps:

 

  1. Navigate to the Payroll Reporting Centre>>Employment Termination tab
  2. Choose the relevant employee's name
  3. Tick the incorrectly pay
  4. Select Remove & Notify the ATO
    Don't forget to redo the finalisation if necessary.

I tried terminating employees in PAyroll Reporing centre following the steps you have given

but i cant do that as the Notify to ATO"" icon cant be selected

any help for this ? or any other way of terminating employees in payroll reporting

Hi, Can we terminate an employee and notify the ATO after the finalisation has been done for the year? Or is this not necessary?

If the Notify the ATO option in the Payroll Reporting Centre>>Employment terminations window is unable to be selected do ensure that you have entered in an Employee end date and tick the relevant employee.

Ideally, you want to complete the employment terminations process first and then complete the EOFY Finalisation. However, it overall doesn't matter, as they are two separate notifications, you just want to ensure that you have terminated the employee at some point in your end of payroll year processes.
