Incorrect allowances found when doing STP EOFY Finalisation

Hi,

I'm using Essentials and found a errors in 3 employees relating to their allowances. One e'ee has an eror in 16/7/2020 pay where leave loading was selected instead of tool allowance. This understates the allowances when doing STP EOY finalisation.

Can I delete just the incorrect pay in 16/7/2020 and redo? Or do I need to delete and redo all the pays back to 16/7/2020?

I can't delete the last pay in June 2021 and redo as I can't have a negative leave loading.

One of the other errors is fare allowance selected instead of tool allowance.

What's the best way to resolve this?

Re: Incorrect allowances found when doing STP EOFY Finalisation

Hi @FiW

Thanks for your post. As it's not possible to enter negative amounts in the original version of Essentials you will need to delete and reprocess those pays. If the pay you need to delete has been used to calculate super you will need to delete all subsequent pays for the month. This help article, Changing or deleting a pay, has detailed information to assist with this.

Re: Incorrect allowances found when doing STP EOFY Finalisation

Hi Tracey,

Thanks for your response. So if the pay is 16/7/2020 then I need to delete just the July 2020 pays (ie 23/7/20 and 30/7/20)? Or all the pays for the rest of the year (ie. 49 pays)?

Is an alternate solution to adjust the figures in the payment summary for the 3 employees and upload the file to ATO for those employees only, then the remaining employees do the EOFY finalisation?

regards

Fiona

Accepted Solution Solved

Re: Incorrect allowances found when doing STP EOFY Finalisation

HI @FiW

Super is calculated on a monthly basis so you'll just need to delete the pays for the month. The problem with your alternate solution is that you've already reported those employees through STP so if you lodge an empdupe file you'll duplicate their income statements. They'll have the Tax ready payment summary and the Not tax ready STP income statement in their myGov accounts which will just cause more issues.

Please let me know if you need further help.
