Leave loading missing from STP

Hi Everyone

 

You've worked out that Leave loading is the payroll category that is causing your STP headaches but don't know why? Generally this is caused by the payroll category being exempted from PAYG Withholding calculations. If leave loading needs to be reported through STP you will need to follow these steps in AccountRight:

 

  1. Go to Payroll>>Payroll Categories
  2. Open the leave loading category by clicking on the zoom arrow
  3. Click on the Exempt button

  4. Untick PAYG Withholding 
  5. Click OK, click OK again
  6. Send an update event to update STP

 

If you're using MYOB Business/Essentials:

 

  1. Go to Payroll>>Pay items
  2. Click on the leave loading item
  3. Under Exemptions check for PAYG Withholding
  4. Click on the X to remove the exemption
  5. Click on Save
  6. Send an update event to update STP

 

If you're using the original Essentials:

 

  1. Go to Payroll>>Pay items
  2. Click on the ellipsis (...) for leave loading
  3. If the Tax field is Non-Taxable, change it to Taxable
  4. Click Save
  5. Send an update event to update STP

 

Other payroll categories/pay items can also be excluded from STP reporting for this reason so this is a handy troubleshooting step for any missing categories or items.
