Leave loading missing from STP

Hi Everyone

 

You've worked out that Leave loading is the payroll category that is causing your STP headaches but don't know why? Generally this is caused by the payroll category being exempted from PAYG Withholding calculations. If leave loading needs to be reported through STP you will need to follow these steps in AccountRight:

 

  1. go to Payroll>>Payroll Categories
  2. open the leave loading category by clicking on the zoom arrow
  3. click on the Exempt button

  4. untick PAYG Withholding 
  5. click OK, click OK again
  6. process a $0 pay to update STP

 

If you're using Essentials:

 

  1. go to Payroll>>Pay items
  2. click on the ellipsis (...) for leave loading
  3. if the Tax field is Non-Taxable, change it to Taxable
  4. click Save
  5. process a $0 pay to update STP

 

Other payroll categories/pay items can also be excluded from STP reporting for this reason so this is a handy troubleshooting step for any missing categories or items.

Hi I have the same problem! I have followed your steps and even shut down and reopened MYOB (accountright plus) and has not amended the Gross to include the Leave Loading amount!

Hi Tracey,

I have one terminated employee whos ytd do not match.  I have marked all pay items NOT exempt from tax, however the STP report still does not match. This employee had - Unused Annual Leave and LSL paid out as well as a Salary sacrifice.  What am I missing ??

 

Any further clues??

Followed the leave loading STP suggestion, ran a $0 pay and waited for ATO to accept, balance hasn't changed still out by the amount of the annual leave loading.

My apologies for the late reply. Have you resolved this issue? With terminated employees you would need to check that the payroll categories have the correct ATO reporting categories assigned and that the final pay has been processed correctly.

AccountRight reports don't match my STP reports
