Long Service Leave Entitlement not printing on Payslips in the New Financial Year 01/07/2020

I processed my forst payroll run for the new Financial year yesterday 01/07/2020 and noticed when I printed employees payslips that their LSL entitlement was not printing on their payslips. I checked their balances in MYOb Account Right 2020.2 and they were fine. The entitlement balances printed OK in last weeks payroll run just fine but suddenly have stopped printing on payslips now? I also checked and the LSL entitlement is ticked as print on payslips in the card files.

I called the MYOB help line yesterday and after a long wait the call was answered and then after describing the problem was told I would be transferred to the specialist Payroll Team....I then waited on hold for over an hour and by this time it was 5.30pm so I had to hang up and go home. Just called again this morning same thing the operator told me transferring to specialist payroll team and I said can you assure me I wont be waiting hours again and she said "no only about 5 mins you had to wait a long time yesterday probably because it was the end of the day but this morning you wont"...... well I have been on hold for over 20mins now and still waiting to speak to the Specialist Payroll Team member... or is their only 1 Specialisist in the whole team covering all Australia & NZ queries???? AARG MYOB we pay high support premiums and the phone support service is terrible with very long wait queues. Oh how times have changed from the good old days with MYOB when you got quich phone support!

Re: Long Service Leave Entitlement not printing on Payslips in the New Financial Year 01/07/2020

Hi @Vic1

I'm sorry to hear that you have had this experience. If you set up an entitlement or wage category, but do not post to that entitlement during the current payroll year via the process payroll screen, then YTD amounts will not display for that payroll category on printed payslips, regardless of payroll settings.

For the Long Service Leave entitlement to appear on payslips you could process a pay through Process Payroll, putting one hour against the entitlement, then reverse that pay. These would cancel one another out leaving the entitlement with the same balance and as there has been activity against that particular entitlement it should show up on the pay slip.

Please let me know if you need further help.

Re: Long Service Leave Entitlement not printing on Payslips in the New Financial Year 01/07/2020

Thanks Tracey this was also the solution that the Phone support gave. Which I actually have had to do.

To me that seems like a bug in the system that needs fixing as with Long Service Leave you dont necessarity post new entitlements to it each payroll year as in NSW the employee only has, in most cases except for redundancy or employee leaving due to certain circumstances, an added entitlement after another 5 years. So having to do dummy payroll runs each year until a new entitlement is earned in order for the employee to see on their payslip what their accrued Long Service Leave entitlement is seems wrong to me.

I noticed this happened on our payslips in the new payroll year as well and I completely agree with the comments from Vic1 - we shouldn't have to process a dummy payroll each year for every employee that has a long service leave entitlement when the option to 'Print on Pay Advice' is selected.
