Mistakenly submitted an employees weekly payroll twice in the same week

I have erroneously submitted an employees weekly payroll twice in the same week.

I have deleted the duplicate weekly payroll in MYOB so the MYOB payroll for this employee is correct.

I have since submitted three more weekly payrolls for this employee via STP.

Do I need to correct anything at the ATO for the duplicate payroll sent in error?

Thank you

Hi @Leagle

Sounds like you are all good to go with that situation. When you report via Payroll Reporting you are reporting the year to date figures of that employee. So by deleting that pay you have removed the second amount from the year to date values and thus when you have next reported you have reported the correct values.

Basically, what happens in that situation - say you pay the employee $100 a week and entered an extra $100 pay which has since been deleted. This what the ATO will see:

First pay for $100 - employee YTD $100 = ATO sees $100
Second pay for $100 - employee YTD $200 = ATO sees $200
Delete the second pay of $100- employee YTD $100
Next pay of $100 - employee YTD $200 = ATO sees $200

Kind regards,
Steven
