I just had an ex employee say that he printed off his summary report from the ATO and it didn't show his gross payments as we had not allocated his pay rates at that point in time, we did all of that 1/7/22. The figures that he had showed the same figures as the summary report in STP EOFY finalisation in MYOB, however his YTD and PAYG in STP EOFY finalisation figures that are displayed on the screen were actually correct. These figures matched up with the reports too. *These are the figures reported to the ATO.*
So the good news is that if your figures match on the STP EOFY finalisation screen, then the correct info was sent to the ATO. They need to lodge electronically and all is well. BUT if they try to lodge via other methods, the figures that they can access on the ATO site are the same as the figures in MYOB payment summaries.
We have over 200 staff and I was dreading having to correct all payments, but luckily I don't have to. It's definitely a glitch that should not have occurred as MYOB had to know that STP reports were going to differ. It should have been made clear that the reports would not match!
Hours were spent investigating this, worrying staff who had already completed and spent their tax returns and litres of coffee were consumed. It's not good enough that we had to figure this out ourselves.

can i ask if anyone has been compensated for the cost involved in this STP /Payment summary reporting between ATO & MYOB ? - our bookkeepers are obviously charging us for all the extra work that this entailed .!!

Hi mvercoe
Please see Tracey_H posts 3 weeks ago. There is a link called ETP finalisation that can only be open with a PC or Mac (not smart phones). The solution is also in the body of the email but it's kinda messy.
1) Re-Activate terminated employees
2) Remove Termination date
3) Do a $0 pay for terminated employees for 30/06/22
4) Sent STP info
5) That should work

oh ok thanks for that BUT my issue is that our Bookkeeper has charged us for all the extra time they spent trying to finalise EOFY reporting (6 hours !!) so I am wondering how we can get compensaiton for that - as clearly NOT OUR issue but rather an issue with MYOB & ATO, so how do I go about getting reimbursed for that ??..

Hi Tracy, I've followed all these steps twice and we still have major issues. I spent 4 hours on the phone to the ATO yesterday, who said I need to contact MYOB to do a "full 2022 payroll reconciliation and a full file replacement for ATO – to completely replace the STP2".
So I spent 2 hours on hold to MYOB yesterday, only for it to ring out and hang up at the 2hr mark. I'm now at 50 mins in today without having spoken to anyone yet. [EDIT: IT RANG AGAIN TO 2HRS THEN DROPPED OFF FOR THE 2ND DAY IN A ROW]
We have over 100 people affected by the gross payments mismatch issue: gross and super payments look correct and are showing as finalised on our side for the FY2022, and I went through each employee with the ATO rep who was losing her mind saying she couldn't believe how totally wrong each set of figures was.
I know I always love to have a whinge on here, but this level of issues (no wonder STP2 was paused) is absolutely unacceptable. I don't want to have to go down the road of changing providers but to see that this is an issue for other MYOB clients is a huge red flag.

I did all of this as well - didn't do anything to fix the issue. Makes us look so incompetent to our employees.

How long does it take for the ATO to accept the $0 pay. I have never been notified in the past of them accepting the pay.

The nil pay is reported as per a normal pay. In my experience the nil pay is lodged with the ATO in the same timeframe.
