Re: STP and Salary Sacrifice.

I've just come across this post, and thankyou, it seems to answer the problem from a processing point of view. However, Salary Sacrifice for loans / expenses for a PBI is subject to a Reportable Fringe Benefits calculation - usually manually entered on to the PAYG Certificate. How will this be reported under STP?

Re: STP and Salary Sacrifice.

Hi @Sharon_PSI - in the new STP system, Reportable Fringe Benefits (RFBs) will be reported annually, via an Adjustment Event.  before the end of the payroll year (e.g. 2018-19). More details to come soon, from the ATO and MYOB.

Re: STP and Salary Sacrifice.

My payroll has salary sacrifice for both "super" and "other".

When I view (in the ATO Business Portal) the STP report submitted by MYOB, gross wages has been reduced by the former but not the latter.  I ensured that "other" salary sacrifice is PAYG exempt, so why isn't gross wages reduced in the STP report?

Re: STP and Salary Sacrifice.

I'm with a NFP PBI with a FBT exemption.

We set up our salary sacrifice deductions (not super) in deductions .... we ticked the box to have them deducted before income tax is calcualted ... we gave them the not reportable ATO code.

I just did our first single touch payroll ... I log into the ATO portal and check it all went OK .... and I find the gross amount in the ATO portal if the amount INCLUDING the salary sacrifice amounts. The salary sacrifice deduction HAS NOT been deductd from the ATO Gross Payments figure.

This is contrary to the advice FROM myob.

Can I get an explanation please?

Re: STP and Salary Sacrifice.

Hi @Bill999

Thank you for being in contact with us.

The Salary Sacrifice Deduction will need to be marked as not reportable, as it will reduce from Gross payments in the back end. Please make sure that you tick the Exempt from Tax option if it needs to be reported after tax (You find this b going into the payroll category, select Exempt at the top and select PAYG)

Please find the support article for linking ATO reporting Categories here.

Thanks

Re: STP and Salary Sacrifice.

Hello, I have the same issue.  We motor vehicle salary packaging with the deduction set up exactly as shown, but the amount is not deducted from gross payments when I log into the ATO Business Portal.  Please advise what needs to be done to rectify this.

Thank you
