Salary Sacrifice STP2 error

Hello. I use MYOB Business Lite. I have one employee in my business, which is me. I take minimal wages from my business with the aim to salary sacrifice as much as permitted by the ATO.

I have entered a salary sacrificed amount of $18,000.00 in my monthly pay run. I have also entered a monthly wage of $3000.00. This has given me a negative of $15,000 in STP reporting. I reported the pay run to the ATO and received a message: Accepted with errors.

I received this message:

• The derived aggregated gross YTD amount must not be a negative amount
  (ATO error code: CMN.ATO.PAYEVNTEMP.000389)

I deleted the Accepted with errors record in STP reports. I then reported the wage of $3000 (which also had the SG amount). The record was accepted by the ATO.

I called the ATO about the above error and was told it was a software issue and contact MYOB.

How to a rectify the error so I can report to the ATO the salary sacrifice of $18,000?

This is a known issue and our team is still working on it there is no estimated timeframe as of the moment but rest assured that we'll provide communications and updates regarding this matter. However, if you receive this error and you're able to continue the pay run and declare it to the ATO, there's nothing more you need to do. If you're not prompted to declare the pay run to the ATO, you can do so from the Single Touch Payroll reporting center. 

To send the report to the ATO from the STP reporting center: Go to Payroll >> STP reporting center >> select the pay run report (it'll should have a status of NOT SENT) >> click send to ATO.

Hi Princess R

With the pay run with salary sacrifice was "accepted with errors" by the ATO. So I deleted/removed in STP reporting (from list of events) and resent submitted the payrun with out the salary sacrifice.

I spoke to my accountant and he said unless the salary sacrifice is reported to the ATO my payment summary at financial year end will not be correct?

So what should do if this error is not fixed in MYOB by end of June?

Thank you for the reply. This ATO error is still on going on and our team is still looking into this. The best option will be reporting 2 separate pay run for the salary sacrifice so that you'll have the correct payment summaries or try using a different browser.
