Single Touch Payroll Card ID

Hi all,

 

We've gone through the process of updating employee cards. However, a few employees who were in Australia as backpackers - have provided the incorrect TFN, never given us the correct ones, and have left the country. How do we bypass the STP error for them?

Hi @K-ren

 

As MYOB's system is designed to comply with the validation rules assigned by the ATO, by having an incorrect TFN this will definitely cause some errors. I suggest reaching out to the ATO themselves and explain this situation and how best to handle it in the STP compliant software.

 

They may have a special rule that you could use when starting your first Pay Event. If there is a general rule they can apply to others also, it would be great if you could post your findings so that others in the same situation may be able to benefit.
