Single Touch Payroll (STP) Phase 2

Hi Everyone

Single Touch Payroll (STP) is how you send your payroll information to the ATO and it's been around since July 2018. The ATO is expanding STP to include additional information in your payroll reporting. They're calling this expansion STP Phase 2.

We've obtained a deferral from the ATO

This means that because you're using MYOB, you have until 1 January 2023 to start reporting STP Phase 2.

What's changed:

New ATO reporting categories:

You'll need to update your pay items with the new ATO reporting categories. These Help Articles have a full list of the new reporting categories:  AccountRight | MYOB Business/Essentials

Income Type:

You will now need to select the employee's Income Type in their employee card

Country of origin:

If you select Working holiday maker as the Income Type you'll also need to select the worker's Country of origin

For more information you can also check our Help Articles:  AccountRight | Essentials

If you want to find out more about STP Phase 2 from the ATO, this Article: Expanding Single Touch Payroll (Phase 2) has more information on that topic to get you ahead of the changes.

If you would like assistance with setting up STP Phase 2 you can search for an advisor on our website: Find an advisor

As always please don't hesitate to start a new post if you have any questions or issues, we'll be happy to help.

Kind regards,
Steven
