payroll category

We are setting up a new company with some payroll categories that are in the system.  As some of the payroll categories will not be used and no staff are linked to it, how to delete these payroll category to ensure no confusion?  There is no option to delete payroll categories.  Please advise.

    Thanks for your post.

     

    As vidario1 mentioned, you can rename the existing payroll categories if you do not have the option to delete them. You may also try if the system will allow you to delete the payroll categories. To do this, go to Payroll > Payroll Categories > Choose the tab where you want to delete the category > Click the zoom arrow beside the category name > Click Edit at the top part of the screen then select Delete Wage Category.

     

    Please let me know how it goes.

    Hi

     

    If you're unable to delete/remove unwanted payroll categories, you can rename them, e.g. put z, zzz, z_ or similar in front of the category name, so that they will at least show up on the bottom of the list and it'll be much less likely that they'll be used by mistake.

      I have followed your advice but as mentioned the delete option is not available.  Thus have to renamed them as suggested by vidario.
