Given an myox file and unable to upgrade

I had a zipped file backed up in Microsoft Onedrive when my laptop crashed but no saved copy held online with MYOB (I owned 2015 version that apparently I own forever but it doesn't come with the backup files subscription). Upon reinstalling of MYOB a (newer version), 'Extracting' from the zipped file gives me an .myox not .myo file that I can't upload to upgrade. I tried changing the file extension but it didn't like that. Leaving as a zipped file meant it didnt' show as an available file to upload, either.

Re: Given an myox file and unable to upgrade

Hi @jomcl

Thank you for your post. If your file has the extension .myox, then it doesn't need to be opened through the Upgrade Assistant.

To get your file on the latest version you would; Start AccountRight > Open a Company File > Add a company file to this library > Locate the file > Open.

If my response has answered your enquiry please click "Accept as Solution" to assist other users find this information.

Regards,
Samara
