I haven't been a big fan of the updated version of Essentials due to several changes that impact how we use MYOB. In particular, the inability to include negative invoice items is pointless and counter-intuitive and now doubles our book-keeping workload for several customers.
Aside from that, I am now having problems editing and deleting bills. If I make any changes to an existing bill, it will not allow me to save those changes and has "An unrecognised error occured - unknown error code".
Frustrated, I have attempted to create new bills to replace the bills that I cannot edit (thinking there may have been a problem with the bills that were brought over from the old version) however they will not save correctly with the same unknown error code. I can't delete the new bills or the old bills; it also has a unknown error code. I assumed there was some glitch and so left it for a few days however the same problem continues to occur.
The reason I pay for MYOB is to save me time book-keeping, however this new version of Essentials is doing the exact opposite, and I am now having to manually book-keep in addition to using MYOB. Might be time to switch over to the competition.

I'm sorry to hear that you're not liking the new platform. I'm happy to take a look into this for you, I will need the chrome console error that should help us pinpoint the exact cause of this error, I've listed the below instructions on how to retrieve these:
To open the console can be opened using one of these methods
- Select the Chrome menu (3 vertical dots) and choose More Tools >> Developer Tools
- Right click on the Chrome window and choose Inspect
- Using the shortcut keys Ctrl + Shift + I(nspect)
Once you've done the above, Choose the Console tab to view the logs being produced.
Right click and choose Clear Console
You will need to repeat the action that causes the error / issue. Any errors within the logs will be recorded in red error text.
You can copy and paste the error to this thread or screenshot the error.

I may have found the source of the issue - one of our common "items" appears to be at fault. I can't open that item to view or edit it (page "Something went wrong" appears). The issues with bills described all have used this item as it is one of our most common purchase and sale items. How do I go about fixing this "item" in order that I can continue using the bills function?

Thank you for the information provided. We do have a script that can be run over your company file that should resolve this, can you please confirm the last 4 digits of your serial number so I can arrange to have the script run.
