Don’t get me wrong though, I'll happily agree with others in that there are many things about MYOB that I've found increasingly frustrating; like their annual pricing increases, their apparent lack of action or excessively long delays (years in fact) in implementing anything suggested or recommended in the 'Ideas' forum ... and yes, I too have also seriously considered moving to another service provider (SO many times) but just the thought of the potential hassles created by transitioning keeps me firmly set in my uncomfortable comfort zone. But, I can honestly say that in the almost 30 years of using this software program I've NEVER experienced this situation. Yes, it's been incredibly frustrating having lost a whole day ... particularly when it's EOM and like many others it’s also Pay Day for us too. However, I understand that MYOB can't tell us something they don't know the answer to. I mean really - how long is a piece of string? Those that wanted updates only had to head to https://status.myob.com/ granted they weren’t hourly updates but there were quite a few or https://azure.status.microsoft/en-us/status I’m almost certain though that today’s experience was a window into the future, with our Governments plans to push forward to transition to so called ‘Net Zero’ and with it, that power outages/spikes will only become all the more frequent. Combine that thought with the push to a total digital and cashless society and our woes of today will only be exponentially amplified. Something to look forward to, NOT! I’m incredibly grateful though that our Banking provider was not also affected by this same outage that impacted Azure, because whilst I haven’t been able to process our payroll today, I have been able to work around this by at least transferring a base salaried amount to all our employees. Maybe instead of crucifying MYOB, try hammering your local Politian instead to get to the root cause of the issue? I believe that both major political parties have lost their way, and I believe that our interests are no longer their interests so I will keep today’s experience in mind when we next hit the polls. Hopefully tomorrow is better! Re: AccountRight and MYOB Business outage Biospawn yep I think you're absolutley spot on. selvaganapathy and situations like this are precisely why MYOB should never have removed the ability for businesses to work offline! Whilst neither MYOB or Azure can be blamed for the utility power surge in the Australia East region that tripped the subset of the cooling units offline, we have been warned that we can likely expect more outages as we head into summer. With that in mind, and the fact that projected shortfall in energy output is already being predicted with the push by both our major political parties to supposedly "cleaner greener energy" ... surely has to be enough for someone at MYOB to see the writing on the wall and go "hmmm ... maybe we should reactivate that feature"? Re: AccountRight and MYOB Business outage Whilst neither MYOB or Azure can be blamed for the utility power surge in the Australia East region that tripped the subset of the cooling units offline, we have been warned that we can likely expect more outages as we head into summer. So therefore, with that in mind, plus the discussions that shortfalls in energy output have already being predicted with the continued push by both our major political parties to supposedly "cleaner greener energy" whilst also decommissioning coal/gas fired power stations and now this situation, surely it has to be enough for someone in charge of business relations at MYOB to see the writing on the wall and go "hmmm yeah clearly isn't good ... maybe we should reactivate that feature that allows users to work off line"? Re: Surcharge Fees NOT INCLUDED with Online BPAY Payments Thank you for the reply Steven_M and the recommendation and link back to the AccountRight Idea Exchange: Online Payments: BPay Surcharge. I must admit that after yesterdays update adding Apply Pay & Google Pay, the first thing I did was drill down through the info through MYOB's T&C's and Fees on the website to see whether the surcharge fee for these could be charged back to the clients and was very pleased to see that they could. So ... if this is the case with Amex, VISA, Mastercard, Apple Pay and Google Pay, what is it about BPAY specifically that doesn't allow it to have the same "surcharge back to the client" functionality? Because your reply doesn't answer that part of my question. Surcharge Fees NOT INCLUDED with Online BPAY Payments Seems like a timely moment to again raise this ongoing issue and ask when MYOB address the need to provide business owners with either of the following two options ... 1. The ability to Deactivate the BPAY Option and/or 2. Enable the Surcharge Fee to be automatically passed on Online Invoice Payments are great ... BUT ... the fact that this service doesn't also provide the option for us (MYOB's Clients) to pass on Surcharging Fees for payments made using BPAY to our Clients, means that many of us are either unable to full utilise this feature or simply not willing to activate it in the first place. In our industry, due to the high values of many of our Invoices we've been forced to restrict this option and only make Online Payment available on Invoices with values of less than $500 (just in case clients choose to select the BPAY option) and if they do then we are either forced to just cop the Surcharge Fee or raise another Invoice for the Surcharge Fee. We were so excited to be part of the initial pilot program when the surcharging fees were being enabled and loved it (wouldn't touch it beforehand), and raised this concern waaaay back then but sadly nothing has changed in all this time and many people are aware of the loophole to avoid being oncharged the surcharge fee. So ... it great that MYOB has now added Apple Pay and Google Pay as Online Payment options but they still haven't bothered to address this issue by adding either of the above to options to help businesses reduces costs! Now I've read in one of the many threads (that's since been locked for comments) that because the BPAY option isn't a stand alone feature there's no ability to "disable" it. BUT ... if this is the case, please explain why the Surcharge Fee can not then be passed on? Why is it that MYOB can see no problem in passing on the BPAY Surcharge Fees to their Clients (us) but won't afford business owners with the same option? Re: PayID instead of BSB/ Acount Details on Sales Invoice Hi Riverview13 , We've had our PayID included on our Invoices for more than a year, couldn't tell whether anyone has made payment via that method or not but figured it's there if they want (better to have it and not need it then need it and not have it). Re: PayID logo Hi Zappy Not sure if you're still looking for the PayID Logo but just in case you do I've attached it here for you. Re: BPAY Transaction Fees Thank you Chris, I'll have a look over there now. BPAY Transaction Fees Hi MYOB Team, I can see that this has previously asked by many other users, and whilst they have all been replied to and then "closed" for comment, this hasn't rectified nor made the problem businesses face go away. So we ask again, can we please have either: 1. the ability to automatically pass on BPAY merchant fees to clients on invoices, just like with MASTERCARD and VISA; and/or 2. the abilitiy to switch off BPAY as a payment option, right now it is lumped in with Mastercard and VISA. When we were part of the pilot program this was rarely an issue, but since being fully rolled out and all users now being aware that the charges are not passed on when selecting BPAY (and choosing that option more and more) we've had to decide what level of fees we're prepared to cop? As a result we've chosen to disable the payment feature all together for almost all of our Cash Sale Invoices and certainly any that are over $500 because whilst this is a great feature that costs associated are NOT! Kind regards Suzi Re: AccountRight 2018.3 now available Supplier Invoices to In Tray is a great add on and some great features added for those setup for "Online Invoices" but bad luck for those of us who feel your fees are too high especially seeing as you've done nothing to address our dissatisfaction on not being able to pass on "your fees" to "our clients" Re: Online Payments: Credit Card Surcharge and while we're on the topic of dissatisfied ... there's been no mention in this update of fixing the issues related to Re: Pay Superannuation: Delete or hide reversed paysuper payments
