Category

When entering purchases there is only one area to add category. Some of my purchases relate to more than one category on the same invoice so I am unable to get a proper P&L for each category. An improvement to MYOB would be to add category to each line item. For example after TAX there is a column which is not used this would be an ideal place to be able to add a category which would improve MYOB's ability to have divisional P&L's.

Thanks for your post. Only one Category can be allocated to each single transaction in MYOB. If you need to allocate a sale/purchase to say two Categories then you will need to split up the transaction into two separate transactions and allocate each separately to the right Category.

If this is a common issue then you may be better to use the Jobs funcion in MYOB. Using Jobs you allocate a job to each line of each transaciton so you can therefore allocate one invoice to multiple Jobs.
