Hi Jo8,
Thank you for getting back to us and providing an update.
Can you please try again to check on the Help Article: Changing an Employee's Normal Hours per Week. This has detailed information on how to reduce an employee's normal hours per week.
Please let me know if you still need further assistance. We are happy to assist you.
Kind Regards,
Cel
I have attached a snip of the Pay Defaults window ,as you can see I have reduced the employees days /week in the Leave tab from 5 to 3 which has resulted in the correct amount calculating for Leave but the amount for Ordinary time,Sick,DIL is calculating incorrectly at 5days worked per week instead of 3. I cannot manually change these values as the fields are greyed out
I am finding it extremely frustrating getting sense out of anyone. I have tried phoning and was on hold for over an hour. Is there anyone out there who can help

Hi Jo8,
Thank you for your patience and understanding on this issue and your effort in sending a screenshot is very much appreciated.
As for changing the day's work of your employee from 5 days to 3 days, this cannot be changed since the working days are set to 5 days. You will need to set up the annual salary of the employee. When the employee changes working days, you can change the working hours during the pay run but you will need to enter the annual salary so the system will calculate the correct rates for pay defaults.
When entering an employee's Normal rate (on the Employment Details tab), MYOB Payroll automatically calculates the Annual Full Time Equivalent Salary field. This calculation is based on the Default Hours per day and Days per Year set in Payroll. In the Annual Full Time Equivalent Salary field is showing the wrong amount, you need to check the Default Hours per Day and Days per Year settings to find the error.
To check this settings:
- Go to the Tools menu and choose Options.
- Click the General tab.
- Confirm the values in the Default Hours per Day and Days per Year fields.
Feel free to contact us again if you still need further assistance or if you have questions or concerns. We are more than happy to help.
If my response has answered your enquiry, please click "Accept as Solution" to assist other users find this information.
Kind Regards,
Cel

Hi Celia
I have tried changing the Default Hours per Day but the system does not allow me to change it. I see you snipped the page - can you change the Default Hours per Day to 3 and resnip so i can see how it calculates ?
If I am unable to correct this then can you please suggest how I can resolve this issue?

Hi Jo8,
Thank you for the update and sorry for late response.
In this matter, since the working days are fixed 5 days, it is not possible to change it from 5 days to 3 days. The only way to fix this issue is work on your gross earnings to be able to adjust the pay from 5 days to 3 days.
Feel free to post again if you need further assistance. We are happy to help.
Kind Regards
